Celebrity Lobster Granted Freedom

George, a 140-year-old lobster was set free from City Crab and Seafood in NYC. The 20 pound crab was captured off the coast of Canada and quickly attracted customers and tourists. "We bought a big lobster, started taking pictures with kids and it worked out real well," said Keith Valenti, the restaurant's manager.
PETA asked the Park Avenue restaurant to release the lobster and the restaurant agreed. "We applaud the folks at City Crab and Seafood for their compassionate decision to allow this noble old-timer to live out his days in freedom and peace," says the president of PETA. George was soon released in an area of Maine which prohibits trapping lobster.
“Lobsters don't deserve to be pulled from their ocean home and kept in tiny tanks in their own waste and then boiled alive.” States PETA on their website. “Use PETA’s “Being Boiled Hurts” Stickers in Highly Visible Places. Let us know how many stickers you need, and we’ll send them right away.” So, if you are interested in a “Being Boiled Hurts” sticker (as shown in above photo), contact PETA.
