"Celebrity is a mask that eats into the face. As soon as one is aware of being 'somebody', to be watched and listened to with extra interest, input ceases, and the performer goes blind and deaf in his over-animation. One can either see or be seen."
~John Updike
In recent news, Kim Kardashian admitted to spraying Windex on her food to prevent herself from eating it. She also confessed to Ryan Seacrest that she’ll pour soda over her food to make it soggy and inedible if a bottle of Windex isn’t handy. I don’t know what’s more disturbing, the image of Kardashian spritzing her food with blue window cleaner or imagining her pouring a diet coke over a salad at a restaurant. What happened to the good 'ole days of pushing your plate to the side?
Recently, other celebrities have shared interesting stories about their secrets to being beautiful. Jessica Simpson went on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to tell the world she only brushes her teeth three times a week because she doesn’t like when her teeth feel "slippery". Queen of putting her foot in her mouth, Jessica went on to say that she’ll use a shirt to clean her teeth if the occasion arises.
As for Kim, she may want to try OxyClean, 409, or Fabuloso as her next appetite suppressors. But, I’ve heard, straight up bleach works wonders.
Eccentric Nicholas Cage recently bought a 9-foot, pyramid-shaped mausoleum. The tomb, located in a New Orleans cemetery, is the future resting place for the actor. The star of National Treasure has undergone financial woes this year, foreclosing on his home earlier this month while letting go of his German castle and his island in the Bahamas. Cage’s strange purchase goes hand-in-hand with his recent decision to dye his hair a shockingly unattractive orangish-blonde.
Cage is no stranger to over-the-top weirdness. In 2005 he named his son Kal-El, the birth name of the fictional hero Superman. At one time he owned a pet octopus and crocodile. His king cobras were donated to a local zoo after neighbors complained.
Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton plans to marry fiancé Mark Mezvinsky in a possible summer ceremony. The couple met when they were teens living in Washington. Currently, Mezvinsky works for Goldman Sachs (a global investment banking and securities firm) and Clinton is a graduate student at Columbia University’s School of Public Health. Both attended the University of Stanford together
One famous guy, Jesus Christ, has gone (like almost everything else in media) to 3D. The History Channel recently aired “The Real Face of Jesus?” a walk through the process of digitalizing Christ’s face from the Shroud of Turin
